one thing

For all our family and friends following - thank you!! It means alot to us.

I wanted to point out the reason I keep giving all the names of the colors and styles, is really for the other people building Ryan Homes who are looking for information.  So that's why I am all mocha this and espresso that.....

It was VERY VERY helpful for me to check other's blogs to actually see the selections on and in a real home.  They give you little swatches to choose from so these blogs were my saving grace :-)

Have a good day everyone!!

Week 8 continued.....

Week 8 -

Okay, Jason likes it when I say this - he was right :-)  The white looks sooooo nice in the bathrooms.  I am definitely happy with the owner's bath. We did ceramic tile floors and opted for a single bowl vanity. The garden tub is huge and I love the window directly above it. Also, the kitchen looks AMAZING! We did the espresso cabinets which look so perfect with the mocha wood floors.  The dolce vita countertops are even prettier in person.  Now, we are getting so excited. 22 days and we get our keys.

Stone is UP!! We absolutely love the stone we chose (bucks county). The black marble looks great on the fireplace.

Week 8 - October 17 - 23

This week things have been moving along on the inside of the house.  We have some of our hardwood floors installed. I also saw the cabinets and mirrors for the bathrooms have arrived, yet not installed.  The doors arrived also for the bedrooms and closets. Also, our drive way was poured. We are assuming the shape of the drive has to do with the sewer lines.....

Week 7 - October 10 - October 16

This week siding has started.  Also, the ceilings are in. The house is really starting to come together. The color selections are exactly as we hoped for.  Sandy Tan & Pebble Clay. Along with black shutters. The black door is going to look so awesome on this house.  And wow do we love those garage doors. They are up in this picture, but they look amazing with the color schemes. Cottage style was by far the best choice!!!!

33 days and we get our keys!!

So Balie started the countdown, and it really sounds close now!

33 days

I can't believe how fast this process is going.  It has been so much fun. The shopping, the color selections, taking the kids over to the lot.  We have enjoyed this process so much!!

Now we just need to start the serious packing.

Week 6 - October 3 - October 9

This week, the garage doors went up, basement framing was finished, we have gas lines in and insulation. Drywall is done!  Our stone and siding has arrived. And we purchased our dining room light fixture. Originally found it on sale for $300 and didn't want to spend that much on a light. Found it on a major blowout sale thru Joss & Main for less than 1/2 that!! I love bargains.

Building with Ryan Homes

Well, at the end of week 5, I will say this. We have really enjoyed this process so much. It is very exciting, yet nerve-wracking at the same time. The Project Manager, Jake - awesome. He doesn't miss anything on those plans. Everything has been well organized and moving exactly on schedule.

The only minor problems we ran into were framing related - a little hole here, a little bow there.  NO complaints here!! How can we complain when we are 5 weeks in and the process has been seamless?!

I was a little leary, because there has been some negative press around Ryan Homes (as with ANY builder really) - but they have been great. Any concern we've had, it's been addressed and remedied right away.

We are almost half way :-)

Now I am definitely at the point where I am starting to second guess some of my selections.

1. We definitely should have done the railing in the formal living room, instead of the capped wall.
2. I wish we would have done the jet garden tub.... but glad I did the garden tub! I also wish I would have done tile upgrades in the bathroom. We did a tile floor, but no tile around the tub and shower - total bummer!!
3. I am not certain on the white cabinets we selected for the bathrooms. I like the nice clean look, but the tan cabinets look beautiful!! Jason loves the white cabinets though, so I let him pick.  I'll just have to wait and see :-)
4. Windows! People, listen - do the extra windows!!!  It's still bright in our home, but the extra windows would've been better. We only have two in our master..... We should have gone for a 3. I want the extra window in the formal living room also..... I want the extra window in the family room.  And it would be sooooo nice to have some windows in the basement.  It's very dark down there.  Well I guess it is a man cave.
5. We need a bonus room - or 5th bedroom. Considering a bedroom in the basement furthr down the road.

I guess that's in. What I am thankful for, we did the 3rd car garage, we did the morning room, we did the finished basement, and I absolutely LOVE our lot.

Week 5 - September 26 - October 2

Electricity, furnace, plumbing, ductwork completed. The project manager has marked up all necessary changes prior to the pre drywall inspection. Insulation being installed.  Almost ready for some walls!!
